Before you go through this section of the user guide, please ensure that you have already installed and configured DC++.
If you haven't, please refer to the installation guide or the configuration guide for more details.
Once you have configured and restarted DC++, you should be connected to RinkSide automatically.
Follow these instructions to download files from RinkSide.
|
Step 1
Get the filelist of a particular user.
- Right-click on the user's nickname.
- Click on Get file list.
|
 |
|
Step 2
Wait for the filelist to be transferred.
Depending on your connection, this may take a while.
You may check on the progress by looking at the download/upload window, as shown.
|
|
|
Step 3
Once the filelist has been successfully transferred, a new window will popup automatically,
showing the contents.
Browse through the list of files. Once you have found the file you wish to download,
you may either:
- Double-click on the file, or
- Right-click on the file and click on Download.
|
 |
|
Step 4
Similarly to Step 2, you will then wait for your file to finish downloading.
The time taken to download the file depends not only on your connection speed,
but also on the person whom you are downloading from.
You may check on the progress by looking at the download/upload window, as shown in Step 2 above.
If you see the message "No slots available",
it means the person whom you are downloading from is currently unable to upload to you because
his/her queue is already full.
You must then wait for an empty slot to open before your download will start.

click on the "Download queue" tab at the bottom of the window.
This would bring you to the window which shows a list of your queued files.
On the left pane, you will see the folder which your files will be downloaded to.
This is the same directory that was specified in the settings during configuration.
On the right pane, you will see the list of queued files and their status.
If you wish to remove any file from your queue, click on it and press the delete key.
Once a file has been downloaded successfully, it will be removed from this list.
